Anagram Scrabble Maker

In Scrabble, making words is not always that easy unless you practice a lot and play often. There are many strategies that are involved with the word making process in Scrabble. Anagrams, of course, play a big role in Scrabble since rearranging letters to form new words is what Scrabble is about. In the game of Scrabble, many new players assume that in order to win, you have to make the longest word possible. This assumption, of course, is not always the case. It is important to remember that due to the presence of the double and triple letter and word multiplier squares, making the longest word on the board will not necessarily yield the most points. Shorter words do not automatically equate with lower point value. This is when memorizing the Scrabble two-letter word list comes in extremely handy. In fact, one of the most important components of winning Scrabble and most all other word games is memorization. There are 101 two-letter words that are valid Scrabble U.S. dictionary words. The U.K. version of the game has 124 permissible two-letter words. It should actually be the first word list you memorize to hone your word making skills and will simultaneously build your vocabulary.

  4. Select SCORE to filter results by maximum point value, or select LENGTH to filter results by the number of letters in a word.

Out of all the word lists, the two-letter word list is widely acknowledged by Scrabble players, including Scrabble Tournament players, as the word list to become most familiar with than any other. There are numerous advantages to memorizing the two-letter word list. You can easily use two-letter words to build Scrabble hooks during the game. Scrabble word hooks are ways in which you can build words by adding one or two letters to an existing word on the game board in order to form a new word, a longer word, or a combination of both. Either way, your point total will increase as a result. Most importantly, when you have high point value tiles like the J, K, X, Z, and Q, recalling your two-letter word list becomes crucial since there will be opportunities where you could build or add a two-letter word on a double letter multiplier square or a triple letter multiplier square. For example, QI and ZA are great two-letter words to use. Other two-letter words that have the potential for big points are XU, OX, AX, and XI. Another way to quickly make words in Scrabble is to find common prefixes and suffixes. Finding the common prefixes amongst your letters such as un-, re-, and in- will help you identify a word quickly. Also, finding common word endings, or suffixes, such as -ing, -er, -ed, and -s will also help you make new words. Another great strategy for making words is simply pluralizing a word with the letter S; or, if you are lucky enough to have one, pluralizing a word with a blank tile. It is obvious that blank tiles are great to have and have the potential to make numerous words and produce many points per word. However, the S is just as remarkable at garnering points in a Scrabble game. You can use the letter S to pluralize any word that appears on the game board. The key here is to add the S to a spot on the board that has a multiplier square and possibly maximizing your points by pluralizing two words at the same time. It is a great opportunity to boost your score. Adding an S to a word is the easiest way of making a word. You can also add a letter to a word that is on the board to form a new word. For instance, if the word ‘NIGHT’ is on the board, and you have the letter K, adding the K to the front of the word to make the word ‘KNIGHT’ is a great way to increase your points. If you continually play and practice making words, you will become a better Scrabble player.
